Chapter 91 One Day

Various short stories from an upcoming Chinese Manhua artist, Benjamin.

Two stories are in black & white, while two other stories are evidence for Benjamin's profound sense for colored illustrations.

The main character of the entitled story, male and contemptuous of how people from his parents generation live their life, spends a day when everything goes wrong. At the end of the story, he realizes that he himself is on the same path as the older generation.

Chapter 32 Orange

The spring she turns sixteen, Takamiya Naho receives a strange, but detailed letter from herself, ten years in the future. At first she thinks the letter is a prank, but then the things written in the letter actually happen, including the arrival of the new transfer student who sits next to her in class, Naruse Kakeru. The letter reads just like her diary entries, down to the same characters. It is not until two weeks later, when Kakeru shows back up at school, that Naho finishes the letter. In the letter, her twenty-seven year old self tells her sixteen-year old self that her biggest regret is that Kakeru is no longer with them in the future, and asks her to watch him closely.

Chapter 70 Savior

Wohn Ku is a vampire that needs human blood to survive.

As a tenderhearted child, she led a tortured existence until a girl named Seyeon willingly became her steady blood source. Seyeon stood by Wohn throughout their school years, defending her from bullies.

Fast forward to the present where they move in together ahead of their freshman year of college. Seyeon remains fiercely protective of her friend, but Wohn is ready for a fresh start.

When a devoutly religious sophomore girl named Juyi showers her with kindness, Wohn emerges from her shell only to realize that Juyi had once been her father’s kidnapping victim, a potential blood source she had refused to bite. Juyi grows closer to Wohn without remembering the incident, fueling jealousy in Seyeon.

Will Juyi prove to be a savior washing away Wohn’s guilt, or will she ruin a vampire’s dream of redemption?

Beijing Chronicles

Ten different Chinese authors decided to talk about their own vision of Beijing life, and the changes made to the city due to the 2008 Olympics. Various subjects are drawn here (destruction of old houses, athlete selection, pollution…) and the graphic styles vary from standard black ink to coloured works looking like contemporary art.
