Her smelling so bad people can't breathe might be the most legit reasons I have seen for neglect. Can you imagine smelling so bad that people can't breathe, and that's all the time. People physically couldn't be around her, least they can't really abuse her too I suppose, throw rocks I guess. Frankly there's no way in he** I could befriend her, might provide food if I knew she was starving but that's it. Give her a job with manure spreading in the fields I suppose, which people may think is insulting but getting any job would be worth it. If anyone has ever smelled truly rancid meat, it makes you vomit, or come real close, and you can't help it. I sure feel sorry for her but if anyone thinks they would do any better and they are not related to her, then I don't believe you. If I was her parent different story I would do everything I could to get used to that smell like that old timer there. Get a scented soaked rag over my face, things like that. Still though, I doubt I would be able to treat her as well as my other daughter inherently, I am human and that's human nature. That's me as a modern person though. Back then even in a non-magic world, let alone a magic one. People would think she is cursed or diseased either way it's actually surprising she's as ok as she is. Anyway feel free to hate this comment for daring to realistically talk about the FL.
