I agree with you but he still needs someone to lean on so he doesn't make any mistakes. He being with the new guy will help him broading his mind. He's been a shut in his entire life so a little shine and new friends will help him be dependent on himself and mind tothink of things on a whole different level.

i took a break from my relationship it was a six months break and never did it cross my mind to start dating i felt free to do things for myself but thats it and here when people break up (by here i mean my town) they start seeing other people like right away so yeah someone had to say it
