I don't really care about the 2nd eldest and the father. I also don't care about the 1st brother. I just want the 3rd brother and the youngest to be together ( I feel like the 3rd brother genuinely cares about the youngest while the father just seems like a hypocrite, and the 1st and 2nd brother are obviously manipulators).

It seems the "dragon" the 1st and 2nd bros are talking about is the youngest. They need him to awaken and for them to have control of his power. So they are scheming something to rush his awakening. They need to cause a rift to trigger strong emotions —it's like the key to awakening. And they are using father because the youngest loves him so much. 2nd bro is deliberately seducing the father and intentionally making the youngest jealous. Though IDK whether they meant to trigger a positive emotions or a negative one.
