I think this topic is treated inappropriatly lightly. It is a difficult moral dillema — do you choose to kill countless people for your own survival, or do you choose to let yourself die to not harm others?
He couldn't possibly kill only criminals. If it's a war for territories, he surely killed lots of innocent people. Both choices should be properly explored in details. What gives him motivation to go on? What troubles him? What never-ending wars have done to his mind?
I can't see the seriousness of this situation at all.
