Okay guys so like I'ma explain bc I went through both of these sh***...
So like the top is an honest and unfeeling person or whatever. He's feeling things he never had and he's new to it, whereas the bottom isn't. The top doesn't want to keep their relationship a secret bc he wants everyone to know they're in love and stuff. He wants to live an honest life and he's a proud guy---guessing from what he's saying. But he's also possessive and selfish, while wanting to keep the bottom all to himself.
Next we have the bottom wanting to keep the relationship a secret. We can't entirely blame him bc the equality in the story plot line is like in the 18s and 19s---they don't support LGBTQ. So the bottom is scared that once people found out about them being gay, they'll be shunned out from the society. And as you can see, the top's mother was clearly shocked bc ofc she didn't prob expect her son to be gay or anything. Like I said, not all gays are getting the equality they deserve in this timeline so yes the bottom has the rights to be scared. He's scared that everyone would start hating on them etc etc.
So my thought on this is---pls send help I'm dying idk anymore. No bc, I understand both of their feelings but idk what they should do atp. Everything's all mixed up and the best thing they could do is take things slow, be patient and talk things out. 
Yeah that's all...I just felt like explaining bc everyone was saying tht the bottom was overreacting but he wasn't. He has the rights. Both of them does. They're both in the right and wrong.
