@Shadow maybe... it might also be because a lot of yaoi is toxic s*t... I used to dislike yaoi stories bc of that. I don't like reading anything that's just straight up red flags having s*x. But when the relationship is green flag, I can read any type of romance.

I honestly dislike all of these male lead candidates... like her ex is weirdly obsessive and controlling not to mention the contract and all the other lore, Michel is also obsessive and seems borderline psychotic with the whole "I can make you forget and take you away" thing, and the prince, bless his nieve soul, is younger then her by an unknown number that's roughly 10yrs and he can't provide the type of peaceful life she wants.

They all kinda suck and I hope she sees how actually insane Michel is before it's too late since he is the closest to being the ML so far. Like the wedding happened a month or two after his sister's funeral and he doesn't give a f*k. He seemed so apathetic about it I got chills only a massive red flag can give.

Also the math behind the prince being like a decade younger then her is this: prince came of age 7yrs ago, assuming that's 18, he's 25. If MC and dead BFF were the same age and bestie got married immediately after coming of age, she'd be 18 when they married let's say the first kid took a year and dead wife took a year to recover before he second pregnancy. That puts them at around 20 when Nick was born. 20 +18yrs till nicks CoA = 38, meaning mc is 38yrs old currently. Thats actually a 13 yr age gap between her and the prince.

I hope she either stays single and peaceful or finds someone she can be with that won't ruin her life.

@Kazooie she also is working twords becoming an adventurer as her end goal, the story is meant to be about her life and the trials she goes through to get there in the end. It's not what the story is about.

@Kazooie I'm assuming you didn't get very far into the story? ⚠️ SPOILER WARNING ⚠️ The og MC, Maribelle, has what is essentially brainwashing magic (or the ability to enchant others) that forces the other characters to fall for her. However it only works on characters that were in the og story. In the og story her family and Lou were brainwashed and the story was twisted to paint Maribelle as a good guy.
