You can actually see each panel represent different timeline, the officer get more stars on his shoulder (higher ranking), and how Pyonghwa’s appearance gradually got neglected (he was well groomed during young age, sparks in his eye), but the moment he looks more like an adult, his hair is uneven, shirt wasnt ironed, and finally, officer’s hand was off his shoulder.
