The author is doing a awful job in trying of making us feel empathy for Rikka,

Milo is rightfully angry, the author trying to blame the spore for milo's burst of anger is not going to spark any empathy in the reader

It feels weird, the Mc is losing too much screen time at the start where the Mc needs to hog at least 99% of screen time, if that fails to happen then that's bad writing, and if Rikka is the main character then the cover showing Winnie, basically makes the cover a bait, you would expecr a depressed magical girl past her prime slowly gaining back her !MOTIVATION! as she outshines her past leader, that would be what the cover would suggest to us the reader, and not family drama of a side character.

Other than normal parental expectation pressure, it doesn't seem that bad that she would had to run away and stuff.

The romance genre wasn't mentioned, but okay, the translator chose he after all, after what was shown it seems like the correct choice, it seems he is a he and not a woman, strange, knowing that he is a magical girl, so far the 2 star rating is pretty accurate

The "spores" cursing is weird, making the enemy feel human is either a setup for a twist or its just a weird way to show the enemy
