The people who criticize r*e manhwa obviously do not read them, and my point still stands. Two bad things can coexist, and both are treated with the same manner, it's just some authors are more respectful and hold themselves accountable, such as jaxx. The only reason the manhwa was discontinued is because the author made a conscious decision to stop it after realizing their insensitivity towards the topic. So no, there isn't as much of a hypocrisy you think there is, it's totally up to the author how far criticism will get to them and if they're willing to challenge their morals and respect victims of any kind.

@gaymensslut People DO criticize manhwas that have abusive dynamics, improper depiction of sexual assault, kidnapping etc. However, readers cannot singlehandedly take a manhwa down, thats something entirely dependent on the author. Jaxx happened to be rational and take accountability for their insensitivity as well as protect themselves from toxic fans. The white savior complex is exactly what you're praising about this story. A white hero freeing the poor enslaved poc, thats the white savior complex. This is not only strongly inaccurate but insensitive since it was implied the slaves (especially the ML) enjoyed working under the MC's family ranch, and I can assure no slave was satisfied or happy with their life during slavery. No, there isn't historically documented a white person saving slaves or a native american proudly declaring himself a "humble slave"
