Jaehyuk needs to stop pushing. Garam has been clear of his fear. He went through he** with his ex, his ex's mom, his parents and the school admin. He finally made it out on his own but had no friends or support. Nearly got hurt making a desperate decision. Jae knows all of this. Then Jae himself treated him like sh** for being gay before finally embracing him. Then Jae's parents over reacted and didn't except the relationship- rejecting Garam. Not once has Garam experienced true acceptance for being gay. Not. Once. To date it's been a nightmare. Jae knows this so why is he behaving this way. Why push Garam this hard? Of course Garam will bite back. Jaehyuk is pushing him in a corner. Just try being patient. Just take a pause. Garam hasn't had time to think. Space to figure things out. The harder Jae comes on the harder Garam will push back. Garam needs space and time. Jaehyuk needs to focus on himself. Get a job, go back to school, mend his relationship with his parents. Show Garam he's mature and trustworthy. Let Garam work on his sh**, figure out that he's willing to work on their relationship. Jae's relentless pursuit is hurting them both. Just take a break. Just a pause. Sometimes you gotta work on yourself before committing to a relationship.

@Tetiana I like that idea. Perhaps the author is setting up Garam to learn to trust and have a bit of faith. Jaehyuk is a devoted and dedicated partner. Garam needs to trust that and have a little faith in himself and others. I feel terrible for both of them. I wish Garam would take a leap and really embrace Jaehyuk. I hope he does soon.

@Tetiana you're absolutely right. Analytical is the wrong word choice. I should have gone with cautious or guarded because he is insecure. I can't blame him though. His experience so far makes his insecurities very real. What Garam needs to hear from Jaehyuk is thoughtfulnes and understanding not another chaotic scheme. Jaehyuk can provide reassurance. Demonstrate that he sees Garam's fears and that they can take their time coming out as a couple. Jaehyuk started as a homophobic fu** boy absolutely unserious and irresponsible. Then announces he's gay and now he's not. He's often caught up in the moment and says or does whatever. Why would someone as cautious and anxious as Garam trust that Jaehyuk could be discreet or understand the real cost of coming out? I mean Jae's whole approach here is to come full circle to fu** buddies. He isn't even giving Garam a chance to step up and take responsibility. Jae isn't giving Garam space to figure out his sh** and come to Jae and be accountable. Because he's afraid that Garam won't come to him. Jaehyuk has always been insecure about Garam's feelings and that Garam doesn't return his affection equally. They are always at odds because their fears don't align and they don't know how to to meet each other in the middle. I think Jae should have let Garam alone. I think Garam would return to Jae because he's genuinely inlove with him.

Jae is acting out of desperation. The same behaviour we see when he realized he actually loved Garam and tried to win him over, the same behaviour when he realized Garam was moving out and Jae leased the apartment. Jae is an emotional person- he reacts and is shameless. Garam is analytical and an overthinker. He moves slowly and deliberately. These opposing approaches cause these difficulties in solving their problems together. Jae is stubborn and certain. Garam is stubborn and uncertain. Jae is doing whatever he can think of to keep Garam and he's terrified that if Garam speaks it will to be to end their relationship. So he's just spouting nonsense. Sadly it's the very opposite of what Garam needs to hear. It's sad because they do want the same thing but can't quite figure out how. There's no bad guy here, no need to blame and pick sides. They'll work it out.

These chapters are too short. I want all of it now.[poco:0]
Oh Garam. I know you love Jaehyuk. I know you're terrified and can't function. I see your reflex kicking in but you're going to have to swallow that fear. You're have to have some faith in yourself. You've survived worse. You deserve good things buddy. Step up. You're lucky Jae is such an obstinate man. But Garam you're being cruel you're hurting everyone. Deep breaths, take a leap.
Re reading to match the timeline for Evolution of Species. Spin off/side characters. Recommend if you haven't read it yet. It's ongoing at 31 chapters.

Jaehyuk has confirmed Garam's fears by cutting off his family, quitting work, and potentially cutting off friends. Garam didn't want Jaehyuk to lose everything just to be together and it just opens up Garam's wounds (having lost everything just for coming out). Jaehyuk is confirming Garam's decision unwittingly. But Garam is discounting Jaehyuk's right to decide for himself and dismissing JH love and devotion as invalid or unequal to the loss of work and family. Rationally, Garam is right - no one should be forced to give up everything and certainly sacrifice everything for a relationship but JH gets to make these decisions for himself and he's well aware of what he's giving up. Garam is dealing with a lot of fears and insecurities and isn't able to make a clear decision until he's coped with the anxiety and trauma. He's self sabotaging at this point because he's overwhelmed. I'm glad Jaehyuk made his intentions clear- they either work together or they don't work at all. Jaehyuk can't keep doing whatever Garam wants, especially because Garam doesn't know what he wants long term. And Jaehyuk can't fix Garam. Only Garam can and he has some work to do. I think Garam is going to choose to break up, he's backed in a corner and panicking. I just hope it won't be to late to realize that Jaehyuk is the one he loves and wants to be with. I hope it won't be too late to reconcile. Because Jaehyuk is going to spiral when they breakup. I feel bad for both of them it's such a difficult situation.

@hehaiswhaha Garam simply isn't ready and shouldn't be forced. His fears are real and JH doesn't share those fears so they are at an impass. Garam is sorting out his feelings. He isn't toxic he's struggling. He isn't a bad person. Look at all he's endured to this point. He's strong and resilient but he's hit a block. Garam already dealt with JH's parents not long go. Should he have to endure the friends as well? Did JH even discuss coming out with Garam? A plan? A timeline? Support? JH is amazing because he's so audacious and confident. He gives zero fu*** but Garam cares about appearance and reputation. It's a very real issue for some gay couples whether to come out or not. No one should be forced too and neither should they be forced to wait for a partner to publicly acknowledge the relationship. That's the impasse here. Garam understands their differences and doesn't feel like he can move past it. Hence leaving to get space. Not giving the ring. If commitment means coming out he must be ready to that or walk away from the relationship for both their sakes. Not toxic at all just vulnerable and human.

@hehaiswhaha but JH does behave impulsively and irresponsibly often which is childish. Garam has already communicated his (actual legitimate) trauma and anyone expecting him to just get over it is being unreasonable. Prior to this JH has never had a male lover and was highly homophobic why wouldn't Garam still have reservations? His own parent didn't accept him. JH's parents didn't accept him or the relationship. JH's mom basically assumed it was another of JH's tantrums and said so. Garam is scared. It doesn't mean JH is wrong. But neither is Garam. He just has some sh** to figure out. He loves JH and is terrified of losing him or being the cause of harm. I adore them both.

My heart breaks for Garam. He's truly had to struggle on his own for so long. Betrayed by his first love, shamed and rejected by his mother (the absolute cruelty of rather being dead than having a gay son -disgusting), bad dates and a homophobic roommate/ fu** buddy, an ex that ruined his life forcing his way back into it. That same ex injuring his boyfriend. Finally accepting and trusting his roommate now bf?! It's been so difficult for Garam and yet he's achieved a lot by himself, University, self acceptance, friendships. Jaehyuk hasn't experienced any of that so it's hard for him to empathize and hard for Garam to explain in a way that JH would understand. Garam needs some time and they need to find a comprise. Garam can't be expected to just go along with whatever Jaehyuk wants when G is still processing his experience with coming out and how awful it was. Being rejected by people you love and betrayed just for being gay hurts deeply. Y'all need to be kinder to Garam. He's going through it. He'll come around eventually. He just needs to sort through his feelings. He genuinely loves JH and wants what's best for him, for both of them.
Hopefully this clears things up for the naysayers. And a reminder not to choose sides or villains as the story unfolds.
Tei is beginning to examine his changing/conflicting feelings toward Shuraka. He's beginning to acknowledge it goes beyond duty and loyalty. Let's hope he comes to realize more as time goes by.
Shuraka is setting boundaries with the harem. And we see there is no limit to his protection of Tei. We also see how S uses violence and intimidation. A hint at his restraint and power.
Tei's response is the opposite of Shuraka's (memory of his) mother. He's worried about Shuraka's wellbeing and sees no fault in Shuraka without knowing how and why. I doubt the details will change his mind though could make him cautious.
I hope Tei codles Shuraka in the next chapter. Just mother hen Shuraka to death. Shuraka would absolutely love that. Me too. I suspect we might get some marriage relations soon. Even if the communication isn't resolved fully.
