I get why uhh brown haired girl, wanted to be close to her, she has always admired her afar since childhood, And has been following her feeling of admiration for the longest she know, She had feelings for her and didn't want it to leave behind without telling or confessing to the silver haired or white haired so she wanted to confess by being as close to her and faking a relationship with her and spend the time she has left with her, 
She didn't want to just die without confessing, I know what it feels admiring someone for a long time just to know you may not even have a time to confess she probably had a time overthinking if she's going to hurt her by confessing and getting close by her knowing she'll die and has not much time.
