In fact, many stories are primarily written because they're interesting. This is why we have kdramas like Strangers from He**/He** is Other People, where people do bad things and still "win" in the end.

Most adults can enjoy a story about people doing bad things without doing those things themselves. That's why people can watch Strangers from He** without becoming bad people themselves.

When I say, "Jaekyung was mad because Kim Dan suffered for his sake," I'm drawing an inference about his character motivation. I don't care that his behavior was abusive, because it was interesting and Kim Dan isn't real. No one is actually getting hurt.

"I bet we find out he has some kind of past trauma related to this" is just a plot prediction based on genre conventions.

I bothered making a comment at all, hoping someone might be interested in talking about Jaekyung's motivation or the plot. If I'm lucky, someone might read my entire response to you and think twice about another pointless "this relationship is so abusive!" comment.

If you don't find reading about abusive relationships interesting? Maybe stop reading a story about one and try something like "Never Understand" or "The Keystone Romantic Combination."

@Fyodor kafka Best guess? Even though part of the doc loves the seme and wants to be together, he's afraid to be in a relationship because he thinks love is an illusion after his dad cheated.

He might also be pushing the seme away because he thinks the seme would be happier without him. He's torn between the desire to protect himself/the seme and taking the risk of being together.

"Chapters up to, I think, 23, were translated by fans. Translation was dropped years ago.

Chapters 23 - 38 are official VIZ digital release (vol.10 has been released few days ago).

Chapters 46-53+ are Kodansha simulpub, they translate and upload newest chapters into their app. With that said, there's no translation of 39-45 rn. Your best course of action is wait for vol.11-12 to be released and only then read these new chapters. Vol.11 comes out in the mid- August"
