I wrote an explanation as to what happened but if anyone wants a clearer read of the transcripts, here it is:

(1)

Scene:
We see Linus humming to himself with a bag of snacks in hand. He’s looking quite cheerful as he thinks about his twin sister, Naiad, and how she’ll react to his treat.

Linus (to himself): Hehehe. I wonder if this would make Naiad happy.

Thought bubble (Naiad): I love this snack! You have such a good memory. Thanks, Linus!

Linus continues walking until he turns a corner and is suddenly met with his older brother, Caius. They nearly bump into each other, both startled.

Both (simultaneously): Oh!

Linus freezes for a moment, immediately recognizing who he almost ran into.

Linus: Oh shi–!

Before a comedic chase could ensue, Caius, with his quick reflexes, grabbed his younger brother by the collar as Linus attempted to dash away.

Caius (yelling): WAIT A MINUTE, LINUS!

Linus (struggling): UGH!

Caius, now emanating a dark, menacing aura, firmly held Linus in place, visibly annoyed, while Linus squirmed under his grip.

Caius: Why would you start running away as soon as you see your older brother’s face?!

Linus could feel the heat of his brother’s fury, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

Linus (panicked): BECAUSE I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN! —You’re so strong!!
(2)

Realizing there was no escape, Linus reluctantly gave up and slumped in his brother’s hold. Letting out a sigh of defeat, he glanced over his shoulder at Caius.

Linus: I was trying not to see you until the Bridal Quiz was over…

Hoping to deflect Caius’ growing irritation, Linus quickly tried to change the subject, grasping for a diversion.

Linus (hesitantly): Weren’t you supposed to be at Congressman Bowin’s…?

Caius sighed, his irritation slightly subsiding at his brother’s poor attempt at misdirection.

Caius (calmly): No wonder I can’t get in touch with you.

But Caius wasn’t fooled, seeing right through Linus’ ploy.

Caius (matter-of-factly): They were in favor of the New Law, so we finished our talk early.
(3)

Caius then releases his brother’s shoulder.

Caius (relenting): C’mon.

Linus, surprised, turns to face Caius. Clutching the snack bag tightly for support, he waits for his demise. As Caius speaks calmly and matter-of-factly, Linus looks like a scolded puppy, his confidence shrinking under his brother’s steady gaze.

Caius: Running away is evidence that you have something to be ashamed of. If that’s not the case, then just be confident.

Linus, finally starting to cool down from the earlier tension, musters a playful retort, poking at Caius’ boundaries.

Linus: Oh…? You’re much calmer than I thought.

Caius narrows his eyes, briefly losing composure as he takes the bait.

Caius: How many years do you think I’ve been your brother?
(4)

He exhales deeply, regaining his calm, and continues speaking in a steady tone.

Caius: You brought up the Bridal Quiz as an aid rather than hostility. I realized that once I cooled down.

However, Caius’ tone shifts, a hint of annoyance slipping through as he recalls the incident.

Caius (slightly peeved): Although, there’s so much I want to say about how you did it and the assignment you chose…

He pauses, clearing his throat to compose himself. It’s clear he’s decided not to dwell on the past, shifting his focus back to the present. Caius wasn’t here to escalate the situation —he came to forgive his brother, not reignite the fire Linus had sparked.

Caius (calmly): Above all, you’re not some twisted person who would cause trouble for your family for no reason. I know that much.

Linus blinks, momentarily taken aback by Caius’ words. His brother’s steady, honest reassurance leaves him at a loss for words as he listens intently.
(5)

The atmosphere shifted as Caius stepped closer, closing the distance between them. His height and commanding presence exuded an air of authority, elevating his natural power and prowess. Forgiveness was one thing, but disrespect —especially toward his love, Kouichi— was another matter entirely. Caius transformed from a calm, understanding brother into a stern and resolute King defending his Queen.

Caius (firmly): With that being said, it’s true that you were indeed rude to Kouichi in public. You need to come and properly apologize to him sometime.

Linus averted his gaze, sheepish and possibly embarrassed at being called out so directly. He rubbed the back of his neck, caught in his act.

Linus (sighing): …You always see right through me, Caius.

He glanced up, offering an apologetic smile.

Linus: Okay. I’ll apologize to him then, after the Bridal Quiz is done.

Caius nodded firmly, accepting the response. The tension between them eased, leaving a sense of calm. Sensing the shift, Linus decided to bridge the gap further, taking the chance to mend their relationship by changing the subject.

Linus: So, since you’re on the castle gate side… are you going out again?

Caius: Yeah. I’m going to Julg’s place.
(6)

The mention of Julg’s name sent a wave of alert through Linus’ mind, his expression obviously shocked. Caius, oblivious to his brother’s sudden alertness, averted his gaze. Now the sheepish one, he rubbed the back of his neck as he spoke.

Caius: I’ve only seen him once after the Congress. Ever since then…he’s been finding reasons to refuse my visits.

He closed his eyes, a soft sigh escaping as he reflected. There was no bitterness in his voice —only understanding.

Caius: But I’ve let him feel the same way for three years. I shouldn’t easily be discouraged—

Linus (cutting in): Caius.

Before Caius could finish his sentence, Linus interrupted him, his tone firm and unwavering. Caius opened his eyes, surprised by the sudden shift in his brother’s demeanor.

What met him was a look of warning, sharp and serious, etched into Linus’ expression. Though unspoken, the message was clear.

Linus (firmly): You need to give him up.
(7)

Caius, confused and cautious, pushes his brother for an answer, his gaze fixed on his brother.

Caius: What are you saying?

Linus quickly turned his back to Caius, avoiding his piercing stare. It was clear he was hiding something. Instead of explaining further, Linus left him with a vague and cryptic message.

Linus: Julg won’t be your ally. I think you should use your time more wisely.

Caius stood still, watching as Linus walked away, his brother’s retreating figure offering nothing more than a curt wave. Caius chose not to chase after him, his mind now preoccupied with Linus’ warning.

The scene shifts to a different manor. Standing outside Julg’s house, Caius stood by the carriage, his visit once again cut short. A butler bowed respectfully to his King as Caius prepared to leave.

Caius (with quiet resolve): I’ll come again.

As the carriage rolled away, Julg watched from the window, his eyes fixed on his friend’s reluctant departure. A soft voice from behind broke his concentration, pulling his attention back to the present.

Lamilan (gently): Honey.
(8)

Julg turned immediately to face his wife, her gentle expression meeting his.

Lamilan: His Highness has been visiting our home almost every day, despite his busy schedule.

Lamilan looked at her husband with an imploring gaze, her expression gentle yet respectful of his boundaries.

Lamilan (softly): Would it be that much trouble to meet His Highness just once again?

Julg’s tense posture softened at his wife’s plea. He looked at her with tenderness in his eyes, his voice gentle and affectionate.

Julg: Lamilan. You’re very kind…

But his demeanor shifted as thoughts of his General and father-in-law crept in. The weight of authority loomed heavily over him.

Julg: I wish I could cooperate with Caius too. But, your father, of all people, was the one who decided to support Princess Naiad.
(9)

Though his words sounded matter-of-fact, there was an unspoken pain beneath them —something deeper that Julg was clearly trying to suppress.

Julg (quietly): I’m just his son-in-law who was taken into the family.

Realizing the conversation was heading into heavy territory, Julg shifted his tone, wrapping Lamilan in a firm embrace. His actions seemed to mask his true feelings, redirecting the focus to reassure her.

Julg: All I can do is obey our house leader and protect our family and the country.

He pouted playfully, squeezing her tightly in his hold.

Julg (teasing): I’m in a tough spot. Please understand, Lamilan.

Though she felt the weight of his hidden emotions, Lamilan chose not to press further. Instead, she buried her face into his shoulder, her voice soft and full of love.

Lamilan: My honey…
(10)

Julg gently broke the embrace, looking down at Lamilan with a small smile.

Julg (softly): …Okay. I’ll go on patrol for a bit.

He walked to the door, slipping on his cape to shield himself from the night’s chill.

Julg: The city has been a bit of a mess lately. You shouldn’t go out and about at night either.

Lamilan smiled softly, her expression calm as she relented to his words.

Lamilan: …Okay.

She stood by the doorway, watching her husband leave without looking back.

Lamilan (quietly): Bye, honey.

End scene.

I don't know how nobody is keeping Jinyoung in the loop. Dude got taken and assaulted and nobody has time to be like, ok we are demons yada yada are you ok? No? Sorry, this is your new reality.

On the other hand, Jinyoung be like "eff this! I don't know what's going on but it'sa yeet or be yeeted world so COME ON!!"

I said what I said, my views remain unchanged. Sid is supposed to be a villain we're supposed to hate. I get the back story and his plans to "protect" Cain. But his "protection" is merely out of selfishness and arrogance.

I do not sympathise him. If the author had done it a little differently, maybe. But since the beginning he was callous and only did things for his own agenda and what he believes is right when it really backfired and went ti** up on him

Ohh?? Did Ben just flinch?

Actually, it never occurred to me about his door...

Does that mean...we might get a side story~~

A couple of things:

Firstly, called it!

trollface sticker

Secondly, pot calling the kettle black, Sid. For you to be caught by Cain's trusted allies and his loyal "chihuahua" means you were (as you would say) sloppy or lacking, thereof.

Third: this is what I mean about his possessiveness. Boy needs therapy, surely there's a demon therapist somewhere.

Fourth: He** could have their doors open and you bet your a** you'll still find Cain and Kyungjoon getting naughty

pepe sticker

Love them

also...what happened to the little boy he was running with...? 😅
If my assumption is correct:

Spoiler!
Sid is planning to take on Satan himself. By accepting a deal with Satan, he pretends to foil Cain's plans as a means to "protect" him by making himself out to be the bad guy to win Satan's favour.

Regardless, it still doesn't make Sid right. His arrogance and selfishness will kill him.

The reason why I have no sympathy for Sid is the way he treated Jinyoung as his possession like his love/worship for Cain, and the way he betrayed Cain's trust and kindness. Let's not forget the many times he tries to undermine Kyungjoon and get him killed.

There's a lot of unforgivable things he's done that I just can't seem to find myself sympathising at all, as hard as I try to give the benefit of the doubt.

I think Sid is supposed to be that character everyone hates on. Doesn't matter what back story the author gives him, it's brushed under the rug by the many times he keeps trying to force himself onto Jinyoung and continuously hurting Cain, along with finding ways to kill Kyungjoon.

I think by the time I finish reading this manhwa, my views on Sid will remain unchanged.
