For me, Ahn Geumhu is such a gentleman. He’s nice, but I wouldn’t say it’s only because he’s naturally like that — I feel like we mostly get to see his softer side because of .
Beom, on the other hand, is what we call a menace. He’s crazy, he’s chaotic, he’s a little bit of a maniac, but at the same time, he’s so cute.
What makes it interesting is the contrast between their looks and personalities. Ahn Geumhu is actually quite intense — he can be crazy, and honestly, I wouldn’t call him a narcissist, but he definitely has a sadistic side. The funny thing is, his appearance wouldn’t make you expect that kind of personality.
Meanwhile, Beom looks like someone who would be scary, but he’s actually kind, naive, clever, and shy. His appearance tells a completely different story.
This webtoon was honestly so interesting. It has so many emotional layers, and the characters are written in a way that makes you want to understand them more. Even the side characters are interesting, especially the guy who looks like Beom.
I wouldn’t really call this a slow burn because from the beginning, we were already getting hints and emotional moments back-to-back.
I really loved the details put into every character. And honestly, I would love a second part, especially if they explored more of them in the modern world. I feel like that would be really interesting.
So I’m not going to start from the very beginning of Golden Opportunity, because most people already know the general story by now, especially since it’s already completed.

This is just my quick review and thoughts on it.

So basically, the story follows Ryu Jean, who gets betrayed and completely set up. And honestly, that part already pulls you in because it’s not just a random betrayal—it feels personal, like everything he thought he could trust just collapses at once.

And then there’s Kwon Noah, the gang boss, and that’s where things really start getting complicated. Because Noah is not a simple character at all. He’s the type that keeps you guessing the whole time—like you’re never fully sure if you should trust him, hate him, or feel sorry for him. That tension between him and Jean is actually one of the strongest parts of the story.
What I also liked is that the supporting characters weren’t just useless extras. They actually played their roles well and helped build the world. Some of them added pressure, some added emotion, and some just made the story more unpredictable overall. It didn’t feel empty or focused only on the main two, which I appreciated.

Overall, the story is very intense, very emotional, and honestly a bit chaotic in a good way. It’s not a soft romance—it’s more of a dark, messy, and emotional ride with a lot of betrayal, power struggles, and complicated feelings mixed in.

If you like BL stories that are more on the dramatic, toxic, and psychological side, then this is definitely one to check out.
