@SanityisHardtoKeep respectfully, your review and this reply is extremely tone deaf. people aren't butt hurt about slavery being mentioned, they're criticizing how it's being handled. also, why are the one star reviews rubbing you the wrong way, but not the aspects of the already terribly done first chapter? "sh*t talking it was not respectful or kind to others," neither is this korean author writing a story about american history without doing proper research. i can't see why you want to give this manhwa a chance when you can tell from the first chapter it's problematic and weird😭it's obvious it's going to explore a master x slave trope or something along the lines of it, and doesn't come off well to readers like myself. in an industry where black and brown people are already either underrepresented or are portrayed with stereotypes, this hurts. it's clear you'll continue to read this and give it a chance, but you can't say that the 1 star reviews are harsh or unkind, because they're very much deserved due to how JAXX decided to handle a sensitive part of history.

@SanityisHardtoKeep it's not "review bombing" when it's valid criticism for an already poorly done aspect of the manhwa. if you end the first chapter of a manhwa that references a painful and dark history of black americans with "i'm your slave," no duh you're getting backlash. it's not mid; it's terrible, insensitive, and a slap in the face to black and brown readers whose ancestors have experienced the tragedies talked about in this manhwa. if you don't have the abilities to properly portray real historical events respectfully, especially slavery, you're better off just not making a manhwa centered around that point.

@SanityisHardtoKeep there's heavy criticism because it's set up to be a white savior trope; mc has blonde hair and blue eyes, fought for the union, and freed the slaves on the ranch to blatantly show you "i'm one of the good ones!!!". it's also incredibly weird, in this historical context, to have one of your tan/brown characters say "i'm your slave" to the WHITE mc
