Wow ok. Attachment and upbringing relies heavily on the caregiver's attitude, im glad author was able to capture what an absence of a caregiver can do to a child. The lack of affection the story implied by the parents for eachother has likely left permanent psychological damage on him, its scientifically proven that a child will grow up to be like their caregivers which allows us to understand in a simplistic term, the route of his behaviour. The father leaving and the mother showing no affection is also likely to be the route to his abandonment complex
