Ok so, my opinion:
He knows that killing people is wrong, he needs therapy and he's definitely a danger to other people but he doesn't want to be
Also, he gives me psychopath vibes but psychopaths are born, not made, if anything he needs brain surgery to get rid of the psychopath traits
