@Kyoko It’s the difference in their ability to do so. Yumin is naive and inept, so his antics come across as goofy and cute because we KNOW he’s not able to actually accomplish his goal. Taejun is definitely able to accomplish his goal, however, and his methods are calculative and a little sinister (drugging someone).

I LOOOOOOVE slowburn misunderstanding plots. I know not everyone's a big fan of the misunderstanding trope, but when an author really drags out a juicy one like this, the pay off is SO satisfying when the character(s) finally learn the truth.

Readers tend to dislike "dumb" MC's like Mako, but there are some genuinely pure-hearted people in the world who strive to see the best in everyone and every situation and just hope to be loved. They get taken advantage of a lot, but being kind to a fault isn't the worst thing someone can be.
