...Also Little Mushroom pfp, you have good taste <3
I find it really interesting that Orca views himself as a monster because that’s how the world around him views him and so every little action he does is instantly judged and viewed as not a ‘human’ but a total animal and this same sentiment is also shown by the readers who are afraid of him.
Though it may be for different reasons, I just find it interesting that the story talks about the two characters and them being stereotyped and facing prejudice for the ‘animals’ they are meant to be and in doing so created a toxic environment which renders them unable to feel love or comfort and so when they meet someone who suffered a similar way they feel an attachment and want to support the other as much as they can — they know what is morally right and wrongs and doesn’t want to hurt the other (Orca feels this more) and the readers still hold that stereotype onto the Orca.
I might be wrong so do say your views on this :]
Both the stories showcase trauma and how humans turn fuc*** up because of it but when it comes to killing stalking, the two characters showcase how twisted their view of love is, B** never being loved and when shown a bit of it goes for the extreme mile to get it back and Sangwoo who is abused by his mother and craves to be loved like how his mother loved him and how his love is caused by the abuse his mother put him through
Whereas for Reverse Thinking, the story revolves around revenge of victim to their perpetrator, the consequences of someone’s irrational actions. The trauma that the MC gave to the ML and how ML wants to treat MC the same. I think ML still likes MC in a weird way and as the story progresses that feeling might start to increase and probably ends in a toxic co-dependency relationship (this is my assumption)
TLDR: When comparing these two stories, you want to compare the trauma they’ve endured — I personally don’t compare trauma because it’s different for everyone and you can’t really say xyz trauma is worse than abc because even with the presence of common factors, humans have different responses to traumatic experiences. So what one might count as trauma might not be the same for another and when that happens it’s hard to compare which is worse because BOTH are bad. Also for readers POV is still subjective because it comes down to opinion and situation of the reader. If a reader never read psychological read this and then information they receive will probably make them view this as worse, vice versa with killing stalking. There’s also other factors so it’s pretty much subjective in nature
I seriously don't know what i more psychological, killing stalking or th...
Firstly - Love the pepe mask, I need that. Like that mask is so peak, it’s calling for me. I’m gonna have to search for ts if it even exists. I love it sm.
Secondly - I’ve noticed this in their previous work, the artist isn’t shy on giving characters melanin. Most of the time whenever artists do dark skinned characters it’s always some weird gray tone like bfr give the tan/brown colour it’s not that deep… Really do appreciate it :]
This last compliment is not to the story but to the wonderful translator who did majority of the translations for this BL (CHARIBL) absolutely love the translator like plz marry me. I can feel the love and affection that the translator has for the main couple and the story. They add reactions and extra fanart and even put an official site for merch which is just peak.
Chanyoung (ML, the top) I feel like the author retconned him because he starts off with being this playboy jerk but is actually a boy failure(this is said lovingly) and very insecure about creating relationships (platonic and romantic) due to his past trauma. I like when authors use the misunderstood trope in a comedic sense but forcing Hyunjin into a coercive relationship where he helps him win his over his crush by doing sexual acts just felt really out of place especially even though like he was being nice it just felt off because he’s meant to be someone who hates interacting with others and is introverted. Hence why I feel like the author changed ML’s narrative but it happens pretty early on so I’ll let it slide….
Chanyoung starts off as a red/orange flag but Hyunjin being the angel he is, was able to crack through ML’s insecurities and made him feel happy and safe about himself. 8/10 felt weird in the beginning but ML is so funny and relatable later on.
The couple’s dynamic is very cute and they always try to communicate with eachother especially MC being the understanding amazing, brilliant, kind and wonderful person he is (MC deserves the glaze) and ML who is learning to love himself and MC and respects MC’s feelings when MC liked his crush and never imposed his feelings during that time (won’t be saying boundaries bcz he did not do that but later on he asks for consent all the time and is very cute and goofy)
I think in the last panels — based on the dialogues, ML wondered if he should say something to MC because MC shows signs of self-loathing and depression but saying something goes against that fact that he views qu*** people as disgusting and beneath him. It throws off his moral compass (which is barely present as it is) and hence does what every person who has internalised homophobia— “hate on the person that you like because if you hate them and they hate you, then you can’t fall in love more” which does not justify his actions or behavior, just because there’s a reason that doesn’t mean you can act that way :P
I wonder how the author will tackle this situation in a way that’ll be healthy for both parties. I’m interested (0v0 )
