Thing is you can't feel that she's facing consequences. She was in a bad situation yea, but look at the difference between the MC and her. She was in a bad position and tried to use the MC to make her situation worse which made his life worse. He had options to do similarly but he stuck by the people he puts his cards with. The people he cared for weren't expendable to him, meanwhile she's a user who will utilized whoever just to further herself and her happiness. Such as somehow thinking while banging the police chief she will somehow get a family trope happy ending with the MC bf.
