(im copying my comment here again because people still refuse to understand
Jae-kyung had his childhood exposed publicly, which is something he clearly tried to bury, and for someone like him who’s built on control and image, that’s a huge hit. Him lashing out isn’t okay, but it does make sense for his character because that’s how he deals with things.
Also, Dan isn’t a baby. He’s been through a lot himself and understands Jae-kyung better than people give him credit for. He can handle more than just one emotional outburst, even if it’s not ideal.
What stood out to me is that this time Jae-kyung didn’t feel completely cold about it. There were small signs of hesitation or guilt, which we don’t usually see from him. That’s why I don’t think this chapter is just him being toxic again, it actually shows a crack in how he usually acts.
And honestly, when you’re reading a story like Jinx where the plot and character development actually matter, you kind of have to look at the full context before jumping to conclusions. Reacting only to one scene without considering the buildup misses the point of the story.
I'm not judging anyone with the end of my text
