The reason why people's comments are contradicting each other is because we are all confused about the story plot twist. It like we are riding a roller coaster with no direction. The reason of them both fighting back and forth was not inphasised more that's why we are confused about which side to pick as the story goes. 
For me I blem the writer for not doing a good job with their flush backs. We needed to move along with the story as we ready but I guess our writer was far much ahead of us that in the way we got confused. And now the story just sound like two people are just hurting each other without reason.

What is happening here. Am I missing something or do I read between the lines
