@Wow not surprised I also would have done something different with my chance to start again. I did not see the revenge storyline coming, but I also get why people like revenge stories.

@couch potato when the paladin said "the opportunity I worked so hard to get" makes me wonder how long he had been planning this. I don't think he's working with the singer, but he might have encouraged what's his name to cheat simply by providing the right environment.
I'm just speculating though, time will tell.

...I don't like the lie that satin and the paladin were lovers, it seems unnecessary to include it and it disgraces satin to some degree. This could easily have been a slightly different scenario that would have allowed satin to retain her full dignity.
