@Rhu There were hints of that before. Remember the only reason the MC's on this mission is because they gave him .9 points out of the 1 he needs because the previous mission was "too easy". And now, to earn that .1 point, he's being forced to do a SSS-rank mission like that makes sense.
They were never going to let him go, he'll work until he dies except he's already dead

@ringoat So first ML was so willful that he basically broke free of the system and tore the MC back into his world and story when it was supposed to be over, messing with the fabric of reality and causing the world to collapse. Seeing as how the new ML looks like the old one and seemed to be talking to himself in the mirror, I think he was able to reach out to first ML somehow and they're now going to either share a body or the first ML is just going to take over

She mentioned that in the original story, Baron essentially gets blackmailed into a relationship with her after she saved him from his curse. But Nellnoa definitely said that she wasn't. So I wonder if it's that the original original version of the story had Lovena as the heroine. Then, Nellnoa transmigrated, killed Lovena, and took her spot, which became the plot of the novel as Haley remembers it. Now, Haley's transmigrated and will become the heroine. So this is the third version of the world, essentially.
