AFTERGOD - Ch. 94

So I was right, Alula's trait of killing those she loved did come from the original Waka

So... Is all of this in the past? We're seeing the past after Waka entered her Witch personality cha...

So the original Waka had the same drive to kill the ones she loved that Alula has, along with the ability to manipulate people like the gods do, so I wonder if they all come from her somehow?

@WAt Furuya's mom, Umi, was super affable and opened up a school to teach anyone. It started out fine but eventually developed into a cult of personality around Umi, who didn't like it. Seeing that her mother was being troubled by all these people, Furuya lured all of the cultists into the lake then told Ahu'az, who she had picked up accidentally and helped grow to a giant size, to eat everything in the lake.

i am more lost than in chainsaw man...

It was mentioned before that the gods grew because of exposure to contaminated water, so I guess that's why the water from the sink did next to nothing but the water in the lake grew them exponentially?

So he is going through some sort of time loop. He said that every night he has nightmares of playing the same game over and over again, so I think one of his abilities is to see the future in his dreams

@Nolife @Nolife I don't know the kanji of his name, but doesn't Toki mean time? Also in the chapter when he was talking about the monster in his "dream", the claw around his neck looked reptilian, which may make sense if his power was 700 million years old

@Strawberry Chanyako I don't think they're literally painkillers, I think he's so addicted that being high is his baseline. Being without the drugs puts him in pain, so rather than taking them to feel better, he's taking them to feel normal, to kill the pain

So drugs were painkillers I feel bad for the both of em
trollface sticker...

So his love was so strong it persisted even after death. And she knew him so well she knew he had been replaced from the start but was just in denial. Agh, my heart

Ugh, I had guessed he was a god, but I thought he was going to be swayed to the good side by the power of (b)romance, damnit

That's actually such an interesting metaphor. Normally, people self harm to have a sense of control to make their internal feelings of pain lesser in comparison to their external ones, but Shion was seemingly hurting herself to awaken Alula over and over, their eyes numbing her suffering. But both were just unhealthy coping mechanisms.

So Ahu'az said that Waka "needs to make someone fall in love with her and be happy," seemingly because it relates to allowing the god within her to incarnate. But also that Yon died because she loved Waka. So are they trying to get her attached to someone then kill them off to shatter her psyche so Alula can take over?
