I genuinely think authors who put r*e in their manhwas/novels/manhuas/mangas don't mind it or they have a weird fantasy which is crazy.

So Mr. Ko has a past trauma that makes him anxious about opening up about his relationship, he is paranoid of getting hate for this and that is why he doesn't want to stick close to Moogeon in public while Moogeon is an anxious person who doesn't want to stay away from Mr. Ko, I think they should both have a proper conversation. Mr. Ko thinks he isn't good enough for Moogeon and Moogeon seems to have doubts due to the fact that Mr. Ko never expresses his love openly.
