I could be wrong but it seems like whenever she looks at her sister Liz's eyes clear up, I think the little bundle of trauma has figured out her sister is for real about her feelings for Liz and is reciprocating that as much as she can.  The big problem I see is going to be the fight between a sociopathic yandere fire mage and a psychotic yandere water mage over who gets monopolize a confused light mage.

This is why aristocracy is such a bad idea, it allows humans to express their worst impulses and natures and lets them call it good.

People in the comments still hate a lot on the emperor but I see him as more pitiful than the empress, she at least had the illusion of love and care whereas he never even got that much.  He was raised to be the perfect healbot, experimented on by a whackjob, and had not a single ally he could trust whereas again Lass/Ras/FL at least had her loyal hound in Sing, wasn't a medical experiment, and was at least allowed to be a normal if overstressed and overworked girl at least until they threw her onto the battlefield.  Really it's kind of a miracle that the dude is as well adjusted as he is, as being cold to everyone and leaning a bit too hard into Real Politic are not the worst reactions a ruler in his position could have.
