Base on the novel, Cen Li is going to act obedient to Ning Xiuyan and that's what he means by saying that he wanted NX to live in despair (act obedient, inlove then leaving the seme by commiting suicide) that's what I remember from the novel however I think Cen Li will indeed kill himself here. The manhua is really different from the novel version (mpreg)

He actually got pregnant twice and he aborted the first pregnancy then that Ning bas**** forced him to conceive again.
That bas**** even called one of his friends to touch cen li even knowing that cen li is pregnant (but it didn't happen because of issues in pregnancy that cen li sufferes, bleeding I think).
He actually changed, he investigated everything especially the issue about hurting that snake jang something and even took care of cen li but
