So, my current theory is that Jae doesn't seem angry enough to kick Dan out of the house. He seems more hurt than anything else, so I think the "separation" when it happens is going to be down to Dan. I think his nan will die and it will be the final thing to send him over the edge and he will potentially try to kill himself or something.
I think there will be a lot to happen in between, but I think that Jae will find out about the spray and realise Dan is innocent, then he will find out about his nan dying, and realise that Dan has nothing to live for now, so he will freak out and go looking for him and end up stopping him from killing himself.
Then, we will witness Dan in a complete depression, or maybe he's in a coma or something, and the "redemption arc" will essentially be Jae trying to help Dan heal.
We're over 50 chapters in and Dan is still a total drip, so I just don't ever see him growing a backbone and making Jae actually chase him. I think the only way that Jae will get his redemption arc, is not through chasing Dan, but through caring for him throughout his grief.
