The thing is that he might've not seen his parents being quite in love and affectionate. The root problems of every human arises from the place and people he grew up with. And when he became an adult, he never made an effort to understand how love and affection works. That's why he is whining about something he already received; like a child having tantrums. He needs to appreciate little things in life and always be grateful for whatever he recieves.
