the mangaka explicitly stated that kenshin lacks social or emotional intelligence, I'd say he's somewhat stupid but physically he's extremely strong as we can see "that's just how it is",,

if u paid a little attention to the mangaka's presentation of the events u would have immediately realized that kenshin is a very kind and honest boy but he's not that smart,, even many like coach tokiwa and iwase internally blamed aoba for his strange unjustified hatred 

I don't know if u're new here or just stuck on one of the old chapters but if u are new it will become clearer as u keep reading

No, your analysis is wrong,, he actually has a strong intuition that's why he was called "the genius fighter" and has already noticed aoba's ability + he originally mentioned the word "or something"
