@Red flag hunter The short girl likes our fl a lot and that after a very short amount of time, tries to be very close to her (we see that her only other close friend is ml which the chapters later on make clearer).
Also idk if you read other works from the author but they do that.

...I mean at least the characters can communicate? Tho our fl is a bad friend to the short girl, the ml is not likable and the short girl is a bad friend to the ml (because of how she feels about the ml being friendly to others).
