@Otaku Her "episode" could've either been an asthma exacerbation or a panic attack. In the era they're in I'm surprised the doctors know about panic attacks which fall under the 'mental disease' they are talking about. And it's highly likely that the medicine she takes is a placebo to relieve her panic. It can also be asthma. Asthma initially was not treated with inhalers so I believe that's where the doctor gave 2 differential diagnoses. But then again, I feel like it was just a panic attack triggered by her past 2 lives. Or it could be asthma, triggered by the same thing.

@Little Shrimp so this is my theory from what I know so far. 10 years ago, the now high priest hiroem Or whatever killed the real high priest who got the real prophecy and claimed that prophecy as his own revelation. In order to make his prophecy seem more real, he found a lady who was similar in age and almost looked like rebecca, Fl's mom. Then, the emperor thinking that the impostor was rebecca "had" Amaryllis who is most likely an evil experiment of the high priest. Maybe the original prophecy was like "ash is the light who will save the empire". So the priest twisted it to fulfill his own evil scheme, I'm assuming as part of a deal with someone or something paranormal....
