@Yww That's because Taeui knows the moment he choose Xinlu, he will definitely die. In this scene, we can see how Xinlu easily ready to shoot Taeui, to bring him even as a corpse. While Ilay, who's a murderer actually tries so hard to not kill Taeui and 'keep' him close. Also Ilay is the one who see Taeui as Jeong Taeui and not gilsangcheon. In the future chapter too we can see, Xinlu's hatred for Ilay is much more bigger than his love for Taeui and Taeui knows that. That's why Taeui pick Ilay. Because Ilay actually 'cares' for him in his unique way, while even his own family doesn't really care for him at all
