But she did that impulsively after being heartbroken at a young age and now regrets her actions so she wants to get it back. So thinknofbtge core like a glass cup that was holding water to the brim, the top areas broke so the cup can only hold a little amount of water now, once she gets the broken shards back and combined them, she'll fix the cup and therefore be able to hold a lot of water once again. The water is now her magin, and the glass cup is the core holding her magic.
