@gal A bit late, but from what I understood, sheep mask did exist. That was until he was stabbed, so the sergeant did escape but because of the on-going trauma he experienced, hes hallucinating seeing him. My interpretation on why he was the only one captured is because in the military, the sergeant never actually did anything to sheep mask like the others. He only looked down on him, criticized and never helped him despite knowing. Sheepmask probably felt betrayal since the sergeant had the power to put a stop to it and instead he was neglected. One would feel shame, betrayal and powerlessness in that position. So for him to go target him, it was most likely since he directed all that rage towards him for not doing anything and wanted to reclaim power through abuse in the same way. In the beginning sheepmask mentions that when he says he was never able to move on. And finally for why he hesitated killing him, I can't really say, but I think either because the sergeant wasn't giving him the reaction he wanted and he probably developed some kind of sick attachment to him, or sheep mask still had some lingering humanity because when he pictured the sergeant's dying face he did start gagging! SORRY IF ITS LONG, BUT I HOPED I HELPED YOU AND ANYONE WHO WAS CONFUSED!

She doesnt deserve him. Best he could do is infact die. if this is what you want in your life, then you dont really know what you want in your life.
