Joanna will fall in love with didi But after some time, she'll realize that he won't even look at her, no matter what she does. She'll fall in love with him from afar and decide to stay away. Meanwhile, her childhood friend (the original heroine), realizing that Joanna loves Didi, will try to get close to him at a party. She'll assume he's fallen for her at first sight, like everyone else around her, and will continue to harass her, spreading rumors that Didi loves her and is buying her gifts to give her when they get married. Although Didi hated both Joanna and the original heroine, he didn't stop the rumors because his focus was entirely on getting revenge on his older brother and stepmother for what they did to Marilyn (the name Dede chose for the heroine): torturing her, cutting off her horn, and burning her and her wardrobe alive. (Derek's father brought Marilyn back to life with the help of the World Tree and its guardian, and the world tree wouldn't allow Marilyn to get close to humans, not even Didi, until she fully recovered, which took several years.) In the end, Marilyn will return, Didi's second brother will join their side, and they will take revenge on everyone who wronged them.  Marilyn, as the sick adopted daughter of Count /Baron's family, will become Derek's fiancée, and only then will the original heroine distance herself from Derek, even though she still believes that he loves her. At some point, she will try to get closer to him again, which will cause Joanna to abandon her and make Didi and Mary accept Joanna as a friend and be disgusted by the original heroine. (Didi's second brother is the illegitimate son of the Duchess and does not share a single drop of blood with Derek or the Duke).
(Note: The Duchess will discover Marilyn's existence one year before Didi and Mary reach adulthood. Her first son (i don't care about his name 🙂 ) will kill Marilyn a few days later after forcing Didi to go to the academy because the Duchess has taken Mary hostage and is threatening to kill her. Three years or so after Mary returns to life, Didi and Mary will meet again, although Mary has not yet fully recovered.)
