What I want to know is ,he keeps thinking about escaping and what going to the lake? Escaping to where? Does he know how to get back home? Is he forgetting he's in another world not just another country? 

Not to mention he has no actual plans beyond escaping. It's how people kidnapped and hostages think but he needs to be a little more realistic
