I find her reaction reasonable! I mean in past she loved that ass****, saw hope and freedom in that relationship..but because she can't give a child to him he started to bringing  a mistress and fooled around in front of her and Now in the  present again the same rollercoaster of emotions! She indeed love the duke and trust him but she is afraid. Afraid to be abandoned as the same she is afraid of duke found out about her not bringing able to give child she had go again with all those situations! And she can't face the same consequences again
