I understand why Sasya would do the things he did, it was his only choice to survive and attain what he's always dreamed of and to his understanding that's how the world worked: a series of transactions. That doesn't mean he's free of guilt and while Karel was wrong in becoming obsessive I think some of you are forgetting that Sasya purposefully made him fall in love with him and need him so that he could take advantage of him, so I can see why Karel would feel betrayed when the man he took blame for and who he thought loved him (remember Sasya made him believe it was mutual) never sent a letter back and abandoned him. It's only natural his heart would close off and now that Sasya is trying to feel loved again, Karel rejects him because all those feelings he had in the past have turned into resentment.

In my opinion, Sasya is only experiencing the consequences of his actions. Obviously this is far too dramatic for plot purposes but yeah, I don't think Karel is overreacting.

Still hurts though.

I don't think Juwan is a bad guy. His family situation pales in comparison to what the other two have gone through but it doesn't make it normal. His mom indeed has a problem of overwhelming her kids and is overprotective, plus his father is sexist and distant and acts like all he needs to do is provide financially and that's all there is to being a parent. I can see why he'd grow up to be a neurotic person and besides he is being gaslighted right now by Blondie, even if it was born from a misunderstanding.

All three of them have their own issues and have awful personalities but I feel they're trying to get along regardless, I don't think anyone in their same situation would've come out normal, they're doing as fine as broken people can.

This is one of my favorite stories, I really like the build-up of their relationship and how difficult it is to tear a person's walls down especially after they've gone through heartbreak like Damon has. Colton is really patient and giving, the perfect match for someone like Damon.
