@animadeus eh, I disagree with your examples because it's still abuser x victim which is weird. I do agree with you on the fact that there is virtually no black people in korea and not including poc bc of what'll happen and how they'll be portrayed ☹️. Maybe they should try again when the world isn't so full of hatred ig

@gaymensslut lol bsfr, you can't assume that all ppl saying this is wrong read r*** comics. If the author was gonna make a comic set in the 1800s whatever, they can include slavery, as long as they do it respectfully, yes. The problem is with the ml and mc. It's slave x master, alr weird. And Im guessing mc freed ml so exslave x master? You realize no black person in this period would be able to buy a horse, have nice clothes, and willingly talk to a white guy so willy nilly. The ml has no black features, and this dude is an ex slave meaning their is a feeling of endebtedness and attachment which is unhealthy. The author can make respectful comics, like maybe their is homosexuality between two slaves or love between two boys during the 1800s which couldve shown the reality of life back then, but it's they didn't and that's where the problem lays.

@animadeus as a poc, I want authors from different backgrounds and cultures to make comics on these types of topics because it encourages them to thoroughly research and understand how deep these serious topics are. However, it's just that since they are not from the background I think they don't feel the need to take it as seriously, like how this author is romantizing slavery. However, one bad apple shouldn't ruin the whole tree, I still think other authors should still be able to make comics on topics like these as long as they do their research and take things seriously

@Lowkeyh_lolli do you really think a black person in this time period would be able a buy a horse, wear nice clothes, and be so sheltered from the world to say to a white guy "I'm your slave"? Not to mention, this dude is not good rep for a black dude, he has bright blue eyes, tan skin and straight black hair. Yes black ppl can have blue eyes, yes they can have straight hair, but the author is likely just making a white dude tan and calling it a day because of some excuses that are like "I can't draw black people" or "this just looks better" which is not something to say when your dealing with a serious topic

Hellooo, poc here, it's really weird to romantize slavery! Y'all saying that the author is being respectful are just wrong. First of all the ml is not a black man, he has no black features, it just looks like a tan dude with blue eyes and straight hair 😭. Second, it's slave x master, "but ohh he's a good person!" I only looked at the first chapter, but if mc is a good guy, then pay off the ml dude and never talk to him again. No black person in this time period would happily good up to a white person all willy nilly, the author clearly didn't clear Abt that and it trying to make it seem as if slavery wasn't that bad. If your gonna defend this piece of sh*t manhwa have your research done first so you can even talk Abt it, but nothing is gonna make this ok bsfr
