The MC's elitism is disappointingly evident. Although he's been reduced to a lowly status, he still manages to embody the pompous self importance of a nobleman - atleast I believe him to considering his interactions with the other "whore". It's sad to see how coy the main character is, I like when they are earnestly sweet, but he feels extremely two faced.
