Am I the only one pis*** thar he didn't tell her all this as soon as she locked him in thar room? His plan was actually good, but then he ruined it by testing her during the last week.
Okay I've got it. The reason we all find the baby not that cute or at least a little awkward looking is because she gave birth to a toddler, not a baby.

You know the thing about this that hits the most is that he clearly liked and respected her before. ...
You know the thing about this that hits the most is that he clearly liked and respected her before. This was a relationship where they didn't want to get married, even as friends.

I just don't know how you can do this to a person you grew up with. It's like he's a completely different person. And after she is the only reason he has anything to come back to.
Just a thought, but okay so we have Hestia, who should obvioulsy be the Imperial Knights priority. But then we have the  Princess of an Allied kingdom who gained significant power over trade while the Empire was at war. What do these knights think would happen if said princess were to die and her father, THE KING, found out that not a single resource was given to find his daughter? He'd close down trade that's what. The obvious disregard for their allies that the Empire showed in this situation basically tells Garten that the Empire will readily and use all support others are willing to give, but provide no support in return. This situation would extend beyond just Garten, every single allied kingdom would lose trust in the Empire.

So even politically the Imperial Knights decisions, and consequencial dismissing of our FL is a huge problem that would weaken the Empire and even possible set the stage for any kingdoms that are unhappy with them to call for war. But hey, that's just my take from a logical standpoint.

@Juthy Khondokar didnt he tell her before he was executed that he only did that so that his heir would live? As far as she knows he rejected her and the baby then at the very last minute he basically told her "I don't care if you die but my child must live on to secure my bloodlibe" I'm sure that's how it would have felt to her.
