I have read the novel and trust me, the duke is quite literally one of the worst mcs ever. He becomes obsessed with Leila to the point where he will do anything just to keep her by his side. He forces himself upon her, make her cry, ties her up and fu** her(ra**), he even threatens to kill their child if anything happens to her because of the child. Overall, he is just a really cute toxic person and confuses obsession for love. He separates Kyle from her. Although he changes in the end, I don't freaking buy it because it was a bit fast paced.
