from what I have read the dark haired ex-husband sacrificed the rest of his live to reverse time twice. The first time was because she died (I think 🤔 from an accident) in this one the older mom (the black haired one) was killed before the man returned from war. In this life he married her because there birthdays are the same.

The second time (the current one) she was preciously poisoned by the dark haired step mom. He only has about 5 years left to live in this one. He chose to marry her in this one. This is the life time he realizes how badly they treated her.
