in my understanding a red flag is someone who is obviously a bad person, manipulative and abusive. All terrible characteristics but not beyond redemption. And a black flag is much worse, murderer, kidnapping their love interest, torture, that kind of thing. (In this case I personally would say he's a black flag here because he is trying to forcibly abort the fetus and especially because he tried doing it in secret. But like I said that's just my understanding and my opinions on the flag system.
