At this point I can't blame Penelope, because they where both using each other. But I thought he understood her, in one of the previous episodes when she told him he would be a knight, eckles said she couldn't make such a promise because of her standing in the family, even though she had a feeling he was just pretending she did all she could to increase his favorability, she was even ready to remove the collar but he refused. All that big talk of being her knight and loyal dog, just to betray her. For him it was all about making her dependent, for her it was all about keeping her head on her neck but what's the point when the person she trusted to keep her alive is the same person bringing death to her?
