@Datweirdbish idk man, jinx is bad because is just a bunch of romanticized ra**, at least here you know that the ml has a twisted mind and the things he does are obviously bad. And even if the protagonist start to like him, you know that it's only because of the manipulation behind, even the name said it "Stockholm Syndrome".
And there are lots of works that are more traumatizing or worse than jinx, but the difference relies in how they manage the storie and how they potrait the characters actions.
