@Vertical to be fair i expected the him and his child hood friend to have something going on. It didnt have to be the main focus but... out of all the animes and manga that get to have 5,000 issues.... this seemed like one that needed to keep going for just a little more.

They could have a "cadet arch" or whatever where it is now HIS TURN to train new recuits and THEN you could introduce the romance subplot. But... its fine... whatever...
