@Morumotto I don't want to be that guy..... But his son literally has no job and the only reason he's capable of living how he's currently living is because he's barely paying rent at his father's place. Obviously he's not going to do it but if he started treating him like a regular landlord he'd be homeless pretty much immediately. So yes, he wants his son to actually get a stable life It's not rocket science

@YuriHater169 You need to go outside more. There are literally 40-year-olds in dead-end jobs getting bullied in the workplace.

@Ceo Of Couches the real reason is fairly straightforward, most societies view children as pure and therefore their "pureness"  is viewed as holy. 

Unrelated, but the reason why most transform dragons in stories similar to this end up being 1000-year-old girls is because in mythology dragons are based on snakes and female snakes are a bigger and B live longer than male snakes
